Happy New Year! Ok, I know it’s only September. But no matter how old I get, the back-to-school season will always feel like a time of new beginnings, clean slates, and fresh starts. And as I trade morning lake views of summer for city views of fall, I can sense those familiar September feelings of excitement and anticipation as we all prepare to step into the future—whatever it may hold.

Goodbye, summer!
This time of year, as one season changes into the next, is a great time to remind yourself of the skills, abilities, and knowledge you possess that can help you develop your future-readiness, stay open to new ideas, and lead change.
And in the spirit of the season, I wanted to share something new I’ve been working on: my brand new speaker reel!
I’m really happy with how it turned out and so excited to share it with the world! I hope you’ll check it out. (Watch till the end for some fun outtakes with a special appearance from my cat!)
Human Intelligence + Artificial Intelligence = The Future of Leadership and Work

Whenever I speak to people at workshops or conferences, one of the concerns I hear about on a regular basis is how to adapt to the rise of artificial intelligence. As AI continues to shift the economic landscape and redefine our workplaces, it’s become increasingly clear to me that in order to stay innovative and lead our teams and organizations into the future, it is crucial that we cultivate another kind of intelligence: human intelligence.
AI is a tool. It can be a very helpful tool, but it’s just that—a tool. And as I’ve often said, tools will never replace wisdom. That’s why, as leaders, we need to give our HI a boost by developing emotional intelligence and emphasizing human connection in the workplace.
Earlier this year, I joined Tami Adams for TA Speakers‘ Human Connection in Uncertain Times series, where we discussed future-ready leadership, strategies to stay grounded during change, and more. Check out our full conversation for insights to help you nurture your HI in the age of AI.
Thank you for reading! I hope the back-to-school buzz helps you to step into the future full of new ideas and the confidence to handle whatever comes next.
